The U.S. EPA has scheduled the first in a series of webcasts built around the core elements of its February 2012 handbook, “Planning for Sustainability: A Handbook for Water and Wastewater Utilities.” Effective planning is essential for utilities to sustainably manage their operations and ensure that water infrastructure investments are cost-effective over their life-cycle, resource-efficient, and support other relevant community sustainability goals. The handbook describes a series of core elements and steps that water and wastewater utilities can take to incorporate sustainability considerations into existing planning processes.
The webcast on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, 12:00-1:30 p.m. CDT, will provide an overview of the handbook and include perspectives and examples from two utility managers that were involved in its development. The webcast is free to participants. Please register at: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/519632424.
